Warm Springs Ranch family tour Home of Budweiser Clydesdales
The home of the famous Budweiser Clydesdales announced Carly’s birth on their Facebook page along with a video of her taking some of her first steps.
Warm Springs Ranch is inviting visitors to meet Carly when they open for the new season.
Warm Springs Ranch, the state-of-the-art breeding and training facility for the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will open its gates to guests from around the world on Saturday, March 23, following record-breaking attendance last year. Just in time for opening day, the Ranch also welcomed, Carly, its first foal of the 2019 foaling season earlier this month.
“We had record-breaking attendance at Warm Springs Ranch in 2018 and we’re excited to welcome even more guests this season to see these gentle-giants first-hand,” said Mark Boese, herd manager, Warm Springs Ranch. “Each year, we welcome up to two dozen foals, and we’re looking forward to teaching our guests how these majestic animals are bred, raised and cared for.”
The family-friendly attraction is the largest Clydesdale breeding facility of its kind in the United States! It offers visitors an opportunity to get up-close and personal with the Budweiser Clydesdales while learning about their breeding and care. An announcement was made earlier this year that Warm Springs Ranch now serves as home to training operations for up-and-coming and future Budweiser Clydesdales. How exciting!
My family and I were honored to be among the first this season to meet Carly, the first foal of 2019, before anyone else ahead of Opening Day on March 23! During our visit to the ranch, we were able to take a private, one-on-one tour of Warm Springs Ranch.
That’s right: we had the entire ranch to ourselves for the day!
Our day included exploring the vast, beautiful and breathtaking grounds of Warms Springs Ranch with our very own tour guide. In addition to meeting Carly, we got up-close and personal with many of the famous Budweiser Clydesdales at the Ranch.
A variety of breeding stallions, broodmares, maiden mares, yearlings and foals were spotted throughout the property. We even noticed a few that are expecting!
Not only were we able to become instant friends with some of the most recognizable horses in the world, we also learned about the history of the Budweiser Clydesdales and the thorough care and attention that goes into raising and training them.
I love that dedicated staff members are on-site around the clock to ensure the highest quality of care for each horse and that all new baby Clydesdales born at the Ranch are welcomed into the world in comfort and safety!
A visit to Warm Springs Ranch makes for the perfect family travel day outing! Guided walking tours are offered twice a day, except for Wednesdays, at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The tour tickets costs $15 per person and lasts one-and-a-half hours.
The best part about the guided walking tours is that they give guests an opportunity to interact with Clydesdale handlers, see the Clydesdales’ harness, luxury trailer and 1903 beer wagon, and take a picture with a Clydesdale. Plus, guests 21 and older also have the opportunity to sample the iconic American-style lager Budweiser.
Additionally, VIP tours are offered once a day. These special tours allow guests to climb aboard a custom-built vehicle for a private excursion across the facility’s 300-plus acres. In addition to the experiences offered on the regular guided walking tour, VIP tours also take visitors on a private walking tour of the 25,000-square-foot breeding facility, give a peek inside the special foaling area, veterinary lab and pastures; and offer the chance to view the traveling hitch equipment.
Reservations are required for both tours.
My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Warm Springs Ranch. We LOVE the Clydesdales – they are definitely ‘gentle giants’ and so majestic! We plan to make a few more visits before the year’s end. It is well worth it!
