For as long as I can remember, Walgreens has always been a staple in my Busy Mom life. Whether it is a regular scheduled trip for needed health and care items, a special food ingredient needed on holidays where other stores are closed, or an unexpected family illness or injury, day or night I have always known that I can count on Walgreens to be there for me and have the products I need at prices that fits my family budget.

 

Having a very active family of 6, I shop there a lot. Like, a whole lot!!! 🙂

 

As times have changed economically, Walgreens continues to respond to ever-changing needs (and wallets) by developing more ways to help their customers save both money and time—two things that are extremely important to me, as I am constantly on the go. Their weekly ads, in-store coupons and monthly bonus books are always helpful to me, and now they has recently launched yet even more ways to save: the Walgreens Balance Rewards program and the Walgreens Mobile App.

 

The Walgreens Rewards program allows customers to save money, and benefit from endless rewards simply by making purchases. Walgreens rewards points can be earned on either in-store or online on everything from prescription refills to body lotion, and more. Rewards start at $5 and can be redeemed with as little as 5,000 points. What I love is that the point redemption can be used together with in-store coupons and sales for even bigger Walgreens savings! (How awesome is that?!) The more points you get, the more rewards you earn. Best of all, Walgreens Balance Rewards is absolutely free to join!

Now the Balance Rewards program is awesome for anyone who shops at Walgreens as much as I do, and what is even more awesome is the Walgreens mobile App! This app is packed with so many great features to make the life of a Busy Mom easier whether you are in the store, at home, or on the go–I cannot just describe them: I have to show them to you! 🙂

 

This App is so easy to understand and simple to use! Everything from Pharmacy to Photo is right on it! It can even be used to locate the closest Walgreens stores to your current location. I can even create a shopping list and save it for easy reference (which I’ll discuss a little later. :))

I first wanted to see how I can use the App to make my in-store shopping trips easier.

 .

I Just typed in a general search query, and product information populated on the screen. There are options to search store availability as well as prices and sales by store location! 

 .

You can also use the mobile App to scan products while in store to check for any special in-store coupons or sales….AND: the scanner can be used in another way that is pure`awesomeness when time does not permit a trip to a store (don’t worry: you’ll see! 🙂 )

Remember the Weekly Ad, Bonus Buys, and Monthly Walgreens Savings Book I mentioned earlier? I’ve had far too many times to count where I’ve either lost these or forgot them at home–with the App, everything is now always with you wherever you go! (I LOVE this!!)

Additionally, there is a mobile coupons feature that give special Walgreens savings exclusive to App users.

Just click the coupon you need, and a scannable version populates on screen for you to use at checkout time!

By using the App in-store, not only did I find everything that I needed, I also discovered some great deals, too!

Signup for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program can be done directly from the App. You can also register at the checkout counter, which is what I chose to do instead since I was there. 🙂

It is so easy to sign up for the Walgreens Balance Rewards program. In addition to the App and in-store, it can also be done online—just a few pieces of information needed to join (and if you have ever filled a prescription at the pharmacy or had pictures printed in the Photo area, your info is already in the system—which makes signup a breeze!)

I’ve got my card–and it only took a few minutes! But your account can also be accessed at checkout using the mobile app to purchase items while on the go–so convenient! 🙂

Here is the absolute best part of all: remember up above where I showed you the App’s barcode scanner? Well you can use that same scanner to scan products around your home and add them to the App’s shopping cart for either shipment straight to you or, depending on location, pickup right at the Walgreens store of your choice!

I can use the scanner to scan products around the house as they run low in supply and create a stored shopping list of of the items using the App

Whenever I need to, I can simply open the App and add the saved shopping list items to my online cart.

After adding the shopping list items to the cart, I simply signed in to my Balance Rewards account.

I review the items , and……

Viola!! I now have what I need all set to ship directly to me–which relieves my stress of trying to make it into the store, and it informs you of estimated arrival time. (SO very cool!) 🙂

.I can really see this App coming in handy to purchase items for my daughter in college–I can ship items to her dorm as she needs them right from my phone!

I can also manage my account, make purchases, and check my Loyalty Card balance either on the mobile App or online on the Walgreens website—which provides the same features and user-friendly design as the App!

Walgreens could not have made shopping or saving any simpler for Busy Moms such as myself! With so much to do every day, it is great to know that I can get some things on my to-do list checked off with just a few clicks. The Balance Rewards program and mobile App can definitely help Busy Moms breathe a little easier! 🙂
