TV One Spreads the Message of Hope and Compassion With the Television Premiere Of the Original Film SINNERS WANTED
It’s a fact that fifty-six percent of Americans want to see movies with Christian values. Additionally, eighty-two percent of all Millennials watch movies and stream content from their phones and other screens (including movie screens).
Jesus told parables: So, if Jesus told parables, why aren’t we creating more movies to seek those needing to discover Jesus Christ?
In this time of uncertainty, TV One is answering the call while also spreading a message of grace this Easter season with the cable-television premiere SINNERS WANTED.
“When we were creating this film, forgiveness and love was the main focus and goal,” said Joshua Jenkins, Co-Writer and Director of SINNERS WANTED. “We didn’t just write it that way, we filmed it that way! It’s a true love story of God’s unconditional love. It’s Something that the world needs to see!”
“I am very proud of my son’s effort in producing this story,” remarked Pastor John K. Jenkins, First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Washington, DC. “This film will help the next generation understand what God’s Love truly means. It’s amazing how they took the biblical story of Hosea and Gomer and made it present day. I encourage church communities all over to country to see it.”
SINNERS WANTED follows the journey of Leo Shepherd, a young vibrant minister from Macon, Georgia, who relocates to Washington, D.C., for an opportunity to pastor Grace Community Church. On his first day, Leo meets a prostitute named Ginger “Gigi” Clementine. Ironically, Leo is immediately drawn to her as she reminds him of his mother. They begin to grow closer and their feelings become stronger.
The church finds out about the budding relationship and immediately voice concerns about the impact of the woman’s past on the church’s image. Despite the congregation’s outcry, Leo continues to pursue Gigi and falls deeply in love, eventually asking for her hand in marriage. Their holy union, however, turns out to be catastrophic and reveals both Leo and Gigi’s past.
In addition to reknowned Journalist Roland Martin, Gospel music prodigy Anthony Brown, Joseph Curtis Calendar, Hope Blackstock, Tiana Melvina Woods and Nasir Rhamim, the all-star cast ensemble includes the multi-talented actors and entertainers below:
“I think people will walk away from this movie and see what true love is and true forgiveness is, when we point a finger at someone else, it’s three pointing back at us,” said Clifton Powell.
