Healthy Living in 2016 is something that can certainly be achieved. It all depends on having the proper perspective.
New Year’s resolutions are often the same tired, overplayed themes – lose weight, quit smoking, workout more – and these one-off resolutions tend to drop off after a few months.
There is a better way to approach entering a new year. Shifting the focus to overall holistic, healthy living covers all of the above and much more. Dr. Josh Sandell, Chief Clinical Officer of rapid-recovery wellness center Orthology, shares the following tips to make wellness the top priority in 2016:

Don’t let cold winter weather stop up your workouts
If you’re exercising outside during the winter months, it’s optimal to make sure you’re as well hydrated as if you were working out indoors or in warmer temperatures. Make sure to wear moisture-wicking clothing, avoiding any materials that may soak up sweat and create a wet layer over your skin.

Focus on nutrition to stimulate healing
While the New Year brings about new beginnings, it also falls right into cold and flu season. If you find yourself struggling with seasonal colds over the coming months, pay closer attention to your diet – vegetable juice is a great source of Vitamin C, which helps strengthen the immune system while fighting off colds. Cutting back on alcohol, added sugars, and fatty foods will also help maintain top health throughout the season.

Practice gratitude and mindfulness
The simple act of practicing gratitude has innumerable benefits, including improved immune health, a heightened ability to manage stress, stronger relationships, and better sleep. Making these health changes is as simple as keeping a gratitude journal – just write down one to three things you’re grateful for each day and you’ll be on the right path to wellness.

Excellent point made here about focusing on balance and wellness versus a resolution where so many forget about after a month or two. This year I am strongly focused in building my immune system and removing added sugars from my diet. I actually started this a few months back and feel so much better. I look forward to seeing what better nutrition and alternative herbs do to make me healthier.
I’m glad I had the chance to visit today. I really love your website. I hope to visit more this upcoming year.
