My youngest daughter is currently in her final hear of junior high school. Before I know it, the year will be over and she will be entering the world of high school, filled with more homework, friends, and after school activities than ever before. Although a small part of me wishes she could stay thirteen forever, I know that she is growing up – and with that comes less dependence on me and more independence to take care of herself.
I decided to take this year to show her how to properly style her hair on her own. It sounds small, but my daughter’s hair is very thick and very coarse. It also is extremely prone to breakage. So she has to be very careful with not only the hairstyles that she chooses for herself, but also the products and styling tools and accessories that she uses, too.
I decided to start off with showing her how to do a couple of very basic hairstyles that included easy yet fun accessories. I wanted her to have styles that she can do in the mornings as she is getting ready for school, or even at night prior to bedtime.

To achieve each of the hairstyles, we used Just for Me styling products. Having entrusted Just for Me styling products to my daughters’ hair for years now, I know that my teen daughter will be able to create the look that she’s desiring without added stress or tangles, or breakage on her hair, while leaving it super-soft and manageable. Just for Me styling products help define curls and control frizz, while locking in her hair’s moisture.

Teaching my teen daughter how to style her hair on her own is just one of the many ways that I am prepping her to a full transition of taking care of herself as she gets older. Using  Just for Me styling products on her hair will make this initial step of self-care training a breeze and a joy for both of us.
