Surviving Unfortunate Events

A major personal crisis occurs in your life and hits you right out of the blue. You never saw it coming—never had a chance to even prepare for it. You know that you need to respond, you know that you need to resolve it or handle it, but you are in such shock, disbelief and devastation that you really don’t know how to, or how you are going to get through it. Sometimes it’s just one; other times it’s multiple ones that seem to happen in domino fashion: coming down on you so fast that you don’t have the time to fully deal with one before another begins.

 .

Unfortunate events happen to everyone—there’s no way around them. However with a focused perspective and a clear mind, they can be used as stepping stones to greater things.

 .

You have to keep your head up and believe that every circumstance has a reason for happening–and usually the reason is a positive or beneficial one. I know that a lot of times it can be difficult to see it that way, and even more impossible to understand it. But it is very true. Maybe it happened as a means of calling your attention to some things that you have been neglecting or avoiding in your life. Maybe it happened in order for you to be forced out of your comfort zone. Maybe there’s something that, if it would not have ever happened, you would not have ever done. Whatever the reason, trust and believe that the revelation of its purpose will come in time, but meanwhile you must stay strong.

.

There is also the possibility that the ‘bright side’ or benefit may not even be for you, but instead for someone else either directly or indirectly involved. Sometimes a plus for one person unfortunately means a minus for someone else. Take time to fully examine the bigger picture instead of the immediate one. This can be very hard to accept if it is indeed the case. This is the time when you must seek you Divine power for both the ability to accept it and for inner peace and resolve.

 .

Most importantly, the happening of your unfortunate event does not necessarily equate to the ‘end all’ of your ‘be all.’ Remember that there was never any guarantee that each day would be easy and that each path would be entirely smooth. Oftentimes the greatest setback is simply a setup for a major comeback—a greater life level that may have never been realized otherwise. This is certainly something to keep in mind as you go from day to day. Do an honest evaluation of yourself and your life, and figure out the steps that you need to take both physically and mentally to move forward and get to that greater place.

.

Surviving unfortunate events can be tough, but know that you can indeed rise above any circumstance and situation. Of course take time to console yourself and release your emotions, but be sure not to stay stagnant. Wipe your tears, pick yourself up, channel your inner courage, and continue on.

.

.

Remember: the only ones who ever make it in life are the ones who keep pressing forward.
