Straight Talk: Rocking My Daughter’s Confidence With #Invisalign Teen
I cannot believe that my youngest daughter Lady T will be turning the big 13 this winter! It has been eight whole years since I’ve had a pre-teen girl in the house. But that doesn’t mean that I do not remember all of the things that come with teen-dom. Issues such as appearance, self-esteem, self-confidence are extremely important to girls her age.
As my baby girl enters the new chapter of junior high and high school life with new friends and new adventures, I want to make sure she has the highest level of confidence possible. I want everything about her to be at its best. Including her smile.

.
When I noticed that Lady T was in need of braces, I panicked. At first, I could only think about the traditional metal braces and everything that comes along with them. I could totally hear not-so-kind classmates calling her “brace face” and “metal mouth.” Such an experience can have a very negative impact on her emotional wellness–I certainly do not what I want for my baby.
.
Then in the process of seeking alternatives, I discovered Invisalign Teen. They are FDA-approved clear aligners that effectively straighten teeth without traditional wires and brackets.

.
Sounds great, but with Lady T intending to play sports and join the school’s music band, the aligner option she gets has to be more than aesthetically pleasing, they have to be durable and flexible enough to fit her soon-to-be-active lifestyle.
.
In my research, I was pleased to learn that unlike wire braces, the Invisalign Teen aligner is removable. I love this not only because she’ll be able to maintain her oral health routine of brushing and flossing her teeth as normal, but also because she wouldn’t have to worry about food restrictions, which is great for her. Six additional aligners are also provided with the first one up front, in case a replacement is needed for loss or damage. That’s definitely a plus for me and our busy schedules!

I thought that Invisalign braces were expensive and take longer to straighten teeth. However I was surprised to find out that the Invisalign treatment takes about the same time to complete as regular braces, and costs around the same price, too. And since Invisalign Teen is covered by many dental insurance policies just like traditional braces — up to 50% of the cost may be covered by my insurance. Flexible Spending Health Savings Accounts (HSA’s) can be used, and there are even payment plans available. With options like these, I feel better knowing that choosing Invisalign for Lady T won’t break our household budget.

I really want my daughter to feel her best when she enters into her teen years. I also want her to do all that she wants to do without braces getting in the way. From the looks and sounds of it, Invisalign Teen will certainly help to make that possible!
