Fall is just around the corner, and that means it is time for some football! Although I admit that I’m still a novice when it comes to all of the ins and outs of the sport, I still enjoy taking in a couple of games during the NFL season and cheering on my hometown team, the St. Louis Rams.

The kids are excited for the season as well—which is why I was elated to take them to the 2013 St. Louis Rams Fan Fest at Edward Jones Dome last weekend. We along with nearly 15,000 other fans got a chance to watch the Rams practice and engage in some scrimmage games and tour their locker room, as well as check out some of the new product items and programs on board for this year. I attended as part of a special session for Social Media professionals, which afforded us an exclusive tour of the premiere areas of the Dome and a one-on-one Q&A session with General Manager Les Snead and C.O.O. Kevin Demoff.

While there were a ton of other things to enjoy during the day like the Rams Kids Club playground, the BJC Physicians Health Fair, and a scavenger hunt that awarded prizes to the winners, my favorite part was touring the private suite and office of the late former Rams owner Georgia Frontiere, the hometown native responsible from moving the team from Los Angeles to St. Louis. The kids had their best time being out on the field with the team mascot, Rampage. At the day’s end, players signed autographs for attendees for almost an hour.

The St. Louis Rams Fan Fest was a wonderful family-fun event. It was great to see not only the crowd turnout, but also the team and its executives showing love to the community by making time in their schedules to share their goals for the season and answer questions from fans young and old. Spending a day in the Dome and getting a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the organization was a real treat! My entire household is looking forward to what the 2013 season will bring!
