Summer is officially here for our household – school is out! (yay!)

I wanted to kick off the next few months in a fun way, so as soon as the last day of school was over for them, we packed our bags, jumped on the highway, and headed to Kansas City for some Midwest family fun!

Our first stop was the Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium!

 

Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium is a pretty awesome place for indoor entertainment for kids in the Midwest! Nestled in Crown Center square in Downtown Kansas City Missouri, it’s 28,000 square-feet of over 5,000 sea creatures and hours of underwater amazement!

 

The kids and I had a great time exploring the many different species of sea animals! We saw sharks, starfish, seahorses, jellyfish, stingrays, and much more! We even got a chance to see the staff feed the sea animals in the Ocean Tank!

I was happy to find that there is more to Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium than just staring at sea animals through glass. Instead, it is more like a sea adventure! There are lots of underwater ocean tunnels and tank bubbles (we all had a blast in those!). There is a quiz trail challenge that families can take to earn a special medal upon completion! There’s even a kids play area!

The best part was not only exploring, but learning more about them by following along with the ‘Sea Facts’ and mini information centers that were all throughout the aquarium.

Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium is very spacious, too! The wide hallways and tall ceilings allowed the five of us to be able to walk and explore freely and comfortably without fear of being shoved, pressed too close together, or run over by other visitors.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, too! They were always around to answer any questions that visitors had about the sea animals.

I am so glad that I found out about the Sea Life Kansas City Aquarium! The entire family enjoyed it so much, we’ll definitely be returning!
