Interview: Actress Sara Rue Opens Up About Her Struggles With Weight Loss

Actress Sara Rue, best known for her roles on The Big Bang Theory, Less Than Perfect, Malibu Country and Popular, knows firsthand the ups and downs of trying to lose weight. As an actress, Sara’s looks and weight have always been under a microscope. However, after trying different options, she reached a turning point in her early 30s and decided it was time to take her health seriously.

“We all have that moment when we sit back and think about where we want to be in 5 to 10 years. I saw a certain image of myself – one that was healthy and comfortable in my own body, but that wasn’t my reality at the time. I knew I had to take action,” said Rue.

Sara wants other women to take action, too. She has teamed up with the new Resolve Now: Stay Ahead of the Curve campaign to encourage women who are struggling with achieving or maintaining a healthy weight to get a jump start on the temptations associated with the holiday season, and resolve now to stay ahead of the curve by talking with their doctor about beginning or continuing their journey to lose weight.

Sara recently joined me to share her personal weight loss story, and to encourage women to resolve now to stay ahead of the curve by discussing a weight loss plan with their doctor. Also joining in was Dr. Holly Wyatt, Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, and Medical Director on the docu-series, Extreme Weight Loss, who offered tips and advice for women who desire to achieve and/or maintain a healthy weight.
