Review: The Journey to Even Skin Tone With Makari

After the birth of my son five years ago, I experienced severe problems with dark spots on my face. No matter how many different products I tried to help get rid of them, they just kept reoccurring.

.

.

It was later discovered that the skin on my face is very sensitive, so I have to use the utmost discernment when selecting products for facial use. After years and years of buying just about every clarifying product on the market, my morning and evening facial care regimen was eventually reduced to this:

.

 Pretty bad, huh? 🙂

.

In spite of all of the trial and error I had gone through with a myriad of products, I am still open to finding a product line to use that will a) play nice with my super-sensitive skin, and b) can help rid me of the recurring dark spots for good.

.

.

I had heard of the Makari skin care brand a few years ago, and was familiar with their work with some high-profile names in the celebrity world. I figured I would give it a try for myself.   I used their Clarifying Exfoliating Antiseptic soap, Body Beautifying Milk, and Skin Repairing Clarifying Serum.

.

 .

The first thing that I look for in choosing a product to use on my face is the list of ingredients—if the list is really long or has ingredients that look foreign to me, I shy away from it. So I must admit that I was a little hesitant when I saw the list of ingredients for each one, however when I noticed that they were mostly natural, I was ok with that.

I also love the exfoliating soap. Huge in size, it is sure to last a long time.

After use of it, my face felt extremely clean without feeling overly dry like my current soap does. It also smells great, which is a definite plus!

 .

 .

One of the issues that I have with my current facial regimen is that although it is quick and easy, it leaves my face very oily, which is not a good thing since I have combination skin. Although the Makari Beautifying Milk is greasy, it is not as greasy as what I currently use. I must admit that it did sting a little bit when I applied it, so maybe it was a little too strong for me.   The Clarifying Serum did not sting at all, and it worked really great for me.

.

 .

I think that Makari is definitely onto something with their skin care line, primarily because all of their products are Hydroquinone-free–even their brightening cream. I think that is wonderful because Hydroquinone was the ingredient that was one of the causes of my dark spots constantly reoccurring (remember I told you that my face is super-sensitive). I plan to give them a full go to see how they can help me achieve an even skin tone.

Since Makari has a full line of beauty products including cleansers, lotions, clarifying creams, and skin brightening creams, I plan to use the Beautifying Milk for my body and use a different cream for my face instead that may not be as strong. Their Ultra Moisturizing Cream seems to be a better choice for me.

Overall, I had a really good experience with the Makari skin care products from beginning to end. They have a solid product line that includes something for everyone; it is just a matter of discovering which matches of products are best for you.

Great post. Have you tried the Ultra Moisturizing Cream yet? I’m using the soap as well and find it a bit drying. I hope the products keep working well for you!

Greetings Anitra! I have yet to order the Ultra Moisturizing Cream–I wanted to try the soap with my usual moisturizer (cocoa butter) to see how it works first. So far it’s working good, but I’m left with the greasy after-effect (lol), and I much prefer my face not to be as greasy, so I will definitely be ordering the Ultra Moisturizing Cream soon! ~I appreciate you sharing here with me! 🙂

Hi!
I haven’t bought any products (i got a sample of the serum though) because I’m trying to figure out which one is best for me. Do you use the serum on your face? Did you have break outs afterwards? Are you still using the products? Did you become a lot lighter? I don’t really want to be too light, just enough to even out my skin.
Thank you!
