. . “At the end of the day, I want to be able to have done more than just work and pay bills. I want to be able to say that I did some things to enjoy my life.” . This was the reason that I gave my husband a few weeks ago for planning an impromptu family ‘freedom’ trip to Cincinnati for Memorial Day weekend. He had been working days on end for weeks. I had been bustling about with our son’s graduation activities during the day hours, and up all night working on blogs posts in the evenings. . We were both drained, and in desperate need of a break. So without his knowledge, I booked a hotel, rented a car, and told everyone to pack their luggage – we were headed out on the road. The way that I look at it, I never want to be the person that takes life for granted. Not saying that work and home are not important, but I know that the best appreciation of life comes when you take the time out to truly live it! And for me, that means traveling with my entire family and creating moments for us to experience the rest of the world together. … .
. Whenever we travel – especially during the summer months – I always pack healthy, nutritious snacks and beverages for us to enjoy. I do my best to stay away from the sugary drinks and pack milk on ice instead. I also encourage the kids to order milk whenever we visit restaurants, and grab a glass of milk during breakfast at the hotel. That way, I don’t have to worry about them getting proper nutrition while we are on the go. . With fewer worries about staying healthy during our family travels, I can focus on the things that matter – like having fun! Having sing-alongs in the car while in route to our destination is always a blast!
.
To guarantee that we wring every last drop out of every single moment, I also plan activities that keep us physically active during our travels too, with milk being the primary way that we keep our bodies nourished throughout the day. With its 9 essential nutrients and 8 grams of protein in every glass, milk definitely powers our potential and keeps us going as we journey and discover from place to place.
.
Our ‘last minute’ trip to Cincinnati was the most fun we’ve had as a family in a long time! And what made it the best for me is that I was able to keep their nutrition intake intact with help of milk. As the weeks of summer continue on, I am going to keep planning fun summer family activities with the healthiest beverage on hand for us to remember to live in the moment and #MilkLife every day!

Your kids look very happy and healthy 🙂 Milk it is!
milk has so much nutrients tat gives our body and immunity though I’m not a milk drinker and even when I was pregnant way back 2010, i didnt drink milk though it was chocolate flavored..
I am a milk person and like you, I would pack some for trips. Some of my friends find it weird that I pair milk with pizza and pasta ( lol, it’s really good and you should try it ). I’ve always loved milk and my dentist can attest that I have strong teeth because I’ve always been a milk-drinker. I’m definitely checking MilkLife after this.
Milk has been a regular fixture at my breakfast table. It keeps me healthy… BTW, that was a cute Instagram photo you have here.
Milk is a regular fixture at my breakfast table. It keeps me awake and energetic. BTW, I love that Instagram photo you have posted.
Looks like you had fun! We love milk, too and I make sure we all drink milk even if we are away on a vacation.
I’m a huge milk fan and have been drinking it since I was a kid. Up to now, I still drink milk. It’s the first thing I get whenever we’re having breakfast buffet at a hotel.
Aw, that’s so sweet of you! I hope your hubby is someone who take surprises nicely! Not everyone can likes “surprises”!
I am not a milk lover. Anyway, thanks for sharing~ Enjoy your writing a lot.
agree that milk are a good (and easy) alternative for source of nutrients while on the go. at times when I really have no time to sit down and have a proper meal, i’ll replace it with a glass of milk to keep the hunger pangs away.
Milk is important to our lives and really good for children. The nutrition it gives to our body system are incredible.
Powder Milk is easy to bring along when you travel. It would surely give you all the energy needed for your day.
So love to drink milk, now that I am in my late 30’s I badly need it.
I have lactose intolerence but I have heard good benefits from milk. Only if I’m able to take it, I would love to drink milk too!
I think a lot of people neglect the importance of milk! It’s one of the important foods ever after all! 🙂
Milk is such a perfect food, I like it very much! You’re right, when travelling, a glass or two of milk over breakfast is the perfect start of my day.
yes I likewise like my kids to drink up – whether we’re home or out on a holiday. Great tip for keeping nutrients in check w a glass of milk daily! My older child is lactose intolerant, and so for him, we encourage yogurt.
I love to drink Milk as well, its part of my source of calcium for my bones. Yup, we should encourage children to drink milk instead of carbonated drinks
Milk is indeed a nutritious drink. I am an avid of sterilized milk since grade school.
