The Joys and Pains of Paying for College

When my oldest son announced his decision to attend a university in our local area, I was elated! It was then that my husband and I gave him our ‘parental pledge’ – as long as he stays on the right track with his education and future, we would do all that we could to support him in every way to ensure that he gets his degree.

Since he’s a commuter student living at home, one would think that the biggest challenge for us as parents would be ensuring his safety to and from campus, or the increased laundry and grocery bills. However, that’s not the case. The biggest challenge for us has been the task of paying for his higher education.

Sure, we saved money for college throughout the years for him. But when unexpected expenses occurred with our home and his health, we had no other choice but to dip out of his college savings to help cover the costs. Since that time, we have been scrambling to reevaluate our family budget to devise a plan that will pay for his schooling and save us money at the same time.

One really great resource that we have found for paying for college is the new College Ave Student Loans Parent Loan, which offers savings over Federal Plus Loans.

The College Ave Student Loans Parent Loan website is easy to understand and navigate, which is beneficial to help us sort out the ins and outs of paying for college. What I love most about it is that the College Ave Student Loans Parent Loan has no origination fee, typically lower rates than the federal loan, and personalized options to meet individual financial situations. And those offered options will definitely be convenient for us, such as money directly deposited in our bank account to help pay for our son’s extra educational expenses. There’s even multiple ways to pay back the loan including a reduced interest rate if we start paying back while he is still in school. There are even some great site tools available on the site to help us along the way, such as the student loan calculator. Above all, I love that College Ave Student Loans offers more flexibility to fit our specific financial situation than many other private parent loan options we’ve looked into.

There is no doubt about the fact that there will be plenty of joys and pains along my son’s college journey. Nevertheless, I am glad to know that paying for college does not have to be ‘pain’ alone. Thanks to the wonderful resources and services of the College Ave Student Loans Parent Loan, my husband and I can take a sigh of relief knowing that we have a helping hand in making financing college easier.

The pain is right! College is so, so expensive. I’ve already told my kids they better be on their A-game with school work or they’ll be paying off loans until they’re old and gray.

With three children, paying for college is definitely a big concern. It’s great to know there are so many financial options and resources available.

My dad used to joke that he timed the time of my brother and my birth right, one out of college, the next one in, one college tuition at a time. Oh dad! Congratulations to your son entering college, what a fun time that was for me!

My daughter will be off to college next year, so we definitely need to start looking into how we are going to pay for extra college expenses. This sounds like a great place to start looking into the loans we will be needing.
