New Music from Melanie Fiona Pushes Us to Change the Game

Remember how you started off the year with all of these wonderful goals that you wanted to accomplish? How you made a breakdown of each area of your life and envisioned certain levels of success in each one? I want you ask you something: How have you been doing on those? Are you making great strides or are you on the verge of tossing them away altogether because you feel as if you’ll never achieve what you want like others have?

There are times when we know our talents and capabilities, but we operate in the bad habit of using them to only a small percentage. We subconsciously place limits on ourselves because once we look around us and we see other people who are at a higher level doing things far better or in a more advanced capacity, and we begin to second guess what we have to offer. As s a result, we start slowly shying away from the very things that we were predestined to do on this earth.  Before long, we find that others who started behind us or with us are now near the finish line of success, while we are still standing in the gate. And the odd part is that over time, we convince ourselves that we are perfectly okay with that.

But, the question is………why???

Sure, you may not reach your desired success destination as quickly as others, but remember that you were born with something special inside of you which purpose is still to be fulfilled. One of my new favorite quotes is one that rap artist Common referenced by Nelson Mandela: “Your playing small does not serve the world.” In other words, the words ‘success’ and ‘low self-esteem and self-talk’ do not go together. At all.

Remember this: to get something you’ve never had, you must be willing to do something you’ve never done. The time has come to break away from mediocrity and to stop hiding in the shadows and downplaying your capabilities. Step up to the plate and show the world what you are made of. Your time may not come right away, but if you don’t stay at it, your time will never come at all. The only way to ensure yourself of accomplishing what you want is to keep going strong.

Never be afraid to express your gifts and whole-heartedly pursue your life’s passion. Self-made millionaire and author Chris Gardner said it best: “If you want something, go get it. Period.” Living a ‘day-to-day’ life will not get you there. You can’t be scared of what people may say, nor be intimidated by what others are doing. Get up, get out there, and SHINE! Show the world who YOU truly are! Like Nike says, “Just Do It!” 🙂

I can’t believe it is May already, 5 months into this year. I am getting back to my goals, started off really strong, then fizzled out. But I don’t want this year to end or look like last year, I want growth and positive change, so I’m pressing on, utilizing the rest of the year better. Good inspirational post.

Greetings: You are certainly not alone in how you feel–the month of May seems to have arrived much too fast! It really does serve as a reminder to us that before we know it, this year will be coming to an end. I can relate to the ‘strong start, midway fizzle‘ as I have experienced that myself from time to time. But as long as you keep your dedicated mindset of finishing the year strong, you will do great and accomplish everything that you set out to do! I’m cheering for you! 🙂 Thank you so very much for sharing… Read more »

I love Melanie Fiona I haven’t picked up her new cd yet but I’m feeling this song and now I gotta get it for sure. This song has power to it! Makes me feel like I can do anything! Things got off to a bad start for me this year but I’m gonna get on the ball because I want this year to end on a good note for me. I know I can do it.

Greetings: Yes I absolutely agree–this song is truly one of empowerment and I wanted to bring more attention to it. I would like to encourage you that even though you got off to a bad start, remember this: “There is no such thing as bad beginnings, only bad endings.” Use that quote to inspire you to press forward and finish the year strong! 🙂

Thank you so much for sharing here with me! I truly appreciate it! 🙂
