My Favorite Photo Is… #NaBloPoMo

I have always loved taking pictures, ever since I was a child. There was never a moment when I did not want to be in front of a camera, smiling bright and posing as perfectly as I could. In those days I viewed it as simply being something fun to do, but as I have gotten older I have come to realize and truly appreciate all that photos are and everything they symbolize.

 .

Photos are far more than just a capturing of a moment. For me, they are thoughts, feelings, and expressions of emotions all beautifully articulated in one tiny square. They are lifetime treasures of priceless measure and sacred to the heart. With one single glance, they can speak volumes to the beholder, helping them to feel the moment that they are viewing.

 .

I have taken so many in my lifetime that I love, but if I had to pick my favorite photo, I would choose the one that I took with my Father a few months ago.

 .

 .

My love and admiration for him is written all over my face—just as his unconditional love for me on his. You can see in our eyes that we both have seen plenty in this life—individually as well as together. You can see the laughter and the tears; the ups and the downs. Yet, through it all it is easy to tell that our bond remains strong. What I love most about the photo that it is crystal clear that no matter what, to me he will always be Daddy, and to him I will always be his little girl.

 .

My Father will be turning 81 years old next year. Every time we are around each other, we stay far away from any slightest mention or thoughts of the obvious. We simply do the very thing that you see in the photo: we show and give each other as much love as we possibly can.

 .

I know for certain that as the years go by and life makes its inevitable transitions, this photo will be that lifetime treasure for me, for it perfectly captures the thoughts, feelings, and emotions my Father and I have for each other beautifully in one tiny square. Of all the photos that we have taken together, this one will always be sacred to my heart.

This was such a great post and I loved the picture with you and your daddy. Having a daddy, your father’s age is a wonderful blessing and I am so happy for you.

My favorite picture is a wedding picture of my husband and I that is in my living room. It is my favorite because we look so young and in love. The years have piled on as have the pounds, but that young sweet love is still there.

Greetings Janeane! Thank you so much: and I certainly know how you feel! My 2nd favorite photo is one of my husband and I on the day that we renewed our vows some years ago–we have it framed and on the wall in our home, too. 🙂 Whenever I look at it, I am reminded that no matter what changes we go through physical or natural, the love reflected in the photo is and always will be there and will never change. 🙂 ~Thank you so much for sharing reflections of your favorite photo with me! 🙂

As a Daddy’s girl myself, I definitely appreciate this photo. (:

I have to say it’s honestly too hard for me to pick a favorite photo .. I have a couple saved in a special folder on my computer .. but most photos I upload on my blog I enjoy very much. (:

Such a sweet picture of you and your dad! It was my dad’s b-day yesterday. He turned 72. My Father in Law turned 87 on Monday. Lots of celebrating this week.

I love the post and how you wrote about the love you share. You and I are luck to have such a great love for dad.
