Music Mondays: The Most Important Purpose Of The Holiday Season

most-important-purpose-of-the-holiday-season #musicmondayDo you ever think about what your Holidays would be like if you were not in the particular life conditions that you are in right now? What if you had far less than what you currently possess? If you did not have the financial standing to buy all of the things that your family wanted this year? What if you had no place of your own to stay, or very little food to eat? Would you still be joyful? Would you still celebrate the season?

 .

If you were in these types of conditions, wouldn’t you want someone to help you? Or at the very least show somehow that they care about what you are going through?

 .

I have witnessed and experienced a lot in my life that has brought me to one conclusion. The most important purpose of the Holiday season is to remind us to look beyond ourselves, beyond our own four walls, families, and friends, and seek out opportunities to make the lives of others a little brighter.

 .

What is most important to remember is that we are all one. We are all the same. Sure, on the surface things may be different, but on the inside, no one was created any better or higher—or lower—than anyone else. We all bleed, we all hurt, we all cry. It is that similarity—that oneness, that is the cornerstone for what the Holiday season is all about.

 .

We can continue to go around with our noses high in the air, pretending that none of the poverty, depression, and suffering of others exists or affects us; or we can use the blessings that we have been given by the Universe to make a change and do something about it. It takes nothing to perform a small act of kindness for someone who is less fortunate, whether it be across the ocean, across state lines or in our own neighborhood. The Holiday season was never intended to be a time of selfishness, but rather one of selflessness.

 .

What is most important during the Holidays? It is remembering the fact that we all have something that we can give. Not as a way to brag and boast, but simply as a way to show genuine compassion and care towards others.
