I can summarize my weekend up in a couple of words: insane. Hectic. Totally discombobulated. And as much as I was hoping that today would be better, it wasn’t.
Deadlines, stress, disagreements, misunderstandings, arguments……the list goes on and on and on. It literally took everything within me to keep from losing it with some people!
No, really! (yes, MELISASource gets angry, too! 🙂 )
Sooooooooooooooooo…………………….how do I handle being under pressure and experiencing a few off-the-wall days in a row?
Well….
Pushing through such trying times is not at all easy, but with the right mindset, it can certainly be done.
First, I remember my priorities. I do all that I can to keep my focus on the things that are most important to get done during the moment, day, week, etc.
Second, I make a hard effort to keep my emotions in check. I do your best to refrain from wasting my time being upset about the small stuff. When something or someone purposely tries to unnerve me, I do not volunteer my energy. I just simply address them as politely (yet firmly) as I can without missing a beat in moving forward.
When I am asked how to handle being under pressure, I respond by saying to remember that life is much too short and time is far too precious to have it go to waste on anger or frustration. Even though sometimes it is unavoidable and warranted, most times it is not—and those are the times when a redirection of energies is needed. Even when there are days at a time where the world is fighting from every angle, develop a thick skin, get tough and fight back, deal with it promptly, brush it off, and keep going. I tell people to absolutely refuse to allow the challenges of life to win.

Now….with that being said, here’s to a much better rest of the week! 🙂

Life is far to short to get upset and frustrated easily. Does it ever happen to me….sure! I am human and it happens to everyone. When it does get the best of me and I have finally calmed down I try to think about what I learned. I don’t want to repeat any wasted energy on something that i could have avoided. I don’t like giving my time and energy to frustration….I like to give it to making every moment of my life count!!
Aaron
P.S. Bon Jovi is awesome!!
Greetings Aaron! I couldn’t agree with you more–I don’t like giving my time and energy to frustration either! It is truly a waste to do so. The sooner that this is realized whenever a problem occurs, the sooner people can move forward and apply their energy and time to things that are more positive. –and yes, Bon Jovi is super awesome! 🙂 I am so glad that you enjoyed this Music Mondays edition–thank you so much for sharing here with me! 🙂
Yes ma’am, absolutely. Great article on a very relevant topic.
