The retired NBA basketball player, Olympic medalist, and current president of basketball operations of the Los Angeles Lakers took the pulpit at West Angeles Church of God in Christ recently as guest speaker for Sunday morning worship service. Magic Johnson asked the thought-provoking question, “What are you doing to get ready for your miracle?” to a capacity crowd.
Magic (or ‘Brother Johnson’ as he is called at West Angeles COGIC) spoke a powerful word of not giving up, believing in receiving miracles, and the number one lifestyle change that can create positive life transformation. During his talk, he revealed various examples of the oftentimes difficult life changes that he had make both personally and professionally to get himself in position to receive the miracles that God had for his life.
In addition, the husband, father, and businessman shared the power in being unashamed in his faith, and how the true blessings of life came to him once he decided to be a blessing to others. After that, Magic closed his message by sharing a personal testimony of his brother who has been clean and sober for 30 years after struggling with drug addiction, using the experience to remind the audience that there is nothing too hard for God.
In other words, Magic Johnson’s message can be summarized as, “Believe it. Prepare for it. Get ready to receive it.” Keep looking up, and hold fast to the Lord’s word — He never fails! Whether your current goal is success, emotional or physical healing, or to simply become a better version of yourself, this message is for you.
