I know that Fall has just started, but I can’t help looking ahead to the Holiday season and Winter Break! Usually I plan family travel for Spring Break, but we stay home in the colder months. I’m thinking that this year would be a good time to start a new tradition of ending our year with a family getaway.
I’ve started my search, and I’m coming up with some great finds! I am looking for a destination that the entire family can enjoy. Also since we are a family of 5, we definitely need something that will fit into our budget.
So far, the family-friendly Lido Beach Resort has my top vote. It is one of few resorts that allow comforts of home.
Located on 300 yards of private white beaches in Sarasota, Florida, the 220 guest room property offers suites that embody a warm, spacious family feel. They also feature kitchens and kitchenettes – perfect for our stay.
There are plenty activities for the kids to get into such as hanging out in the resort’s Family Pool or engaging in a friendly game of beach volleyball. Hubby and I can take in some alone time in our choice of three poolside jacuzzis, or taking a romantic midnight stroll in the garden area while enjoying the waterfalls and reflecting pond. I can even break away for some ‘Me Time’ using the free shuttle to Armand’s Circle, an entertainment district featuring boutique shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
I can keep up with my Operation #GetBackToFit in the 900 sq. ft. fitness center on the property. There are also laundry facilities on site which lightens the load for me (literally) once we return home.
Just because I’ll be taking a vacation, my business doesn’t have to. I can keep everything up and running with the resort’s high-speed internet access and Business Center. I can also follow current events with the complimentary morning newspaper delivered seven days a week.
After checking out the dates for winter break on their website, I was very surprised to see how affordable our stay would be-especially for that time of year! Family packages include money-saving deals such as a 25% discount on a stay of 4 or more nights. Kids 12 and under also eat free in any of the property’s dining outlets. This is definitely a plus for us!
Just the thought of ending the year on a relaxing note in such a beautiful place makes me excited for winter to come! I am certainly going to pitch the idea to Hubby and keep my fingers crossed for a resounding “Yes!” 🙂

That looks like a wonderful vacation spot. Maybe someday when my kids are grown, I’ll be able to enjoy a some time alone with my husband there 🙂
Sounds wonderful. This is the first winter in a long time that my Hubs and I aren’t going away. He will be getting a knee replacement instead. Lucky him… or should I say, unlucky him.
Oh my goodness, when the pools are right next to the ocean like that it makes me SO SO SO SO OH SO happy! And I always love to hear about great places to stay in Florida.
I’ve been to Florida twice and loved it both times. Definitely will go again some time.
I love anything that says kids under a certain age eat for free. I have 4 so the more I can save up on food which is always expensive the better for me. Florida does sound like a great place to be this winter though.
Sounds like a great place to stay. I would love to pay them a visit. Thanks for sharing!
Looks like an awesome getaway! I love anything that includes white sandy beaches…

Coming from a person who grew up in Florida, this place looks great!
That looks to be a most beautiful location!
This has nice ambiance and the scene that has the view of the sea is breathtaking. Wish we could do such a thing in the future when winter strikes.
I have visited Sarasota and it is beautiful. This resort venue looks amazing and would make the stay enjoyable.
