Keeping Positive Through Life's Pain

Keeping Positive Through Life’s Pain

Going through the motions of life can be very trying at times. There are moments when you can get through everything with a breeze, and then there are other times when it seems as if there’s not enough hours in the day and far too much to handle at once. Little-to-no sleep, deadlines and demands  to meet and schedules to keep can take a heavy mental and emotional toll–it can make the strongest person weak and the most optimistic person discouraged. No doubt about it, the daily hustle and bustle can truly wear you down and even wipe you out.  It can be a struggle to remain positive through it all.

When this occurs, it is very easy for positive energy to begin to crumble. You start to feel weary and stressed.  You feel physically, mentally, and emotionally drained.  You want to stop, but you know that is not an option.  There are people depending on you to get things done, so you have to go on.  It can be a painful situation to deal with even a dangerous one if you’re not careful. During times like these, it is crucial to keep your emotions in check at all times.

Before you begin to get a bad case of the “ations” (frustration, aggravation, irritation), remember these three reasons why it’s important to maintain positivity when going through the pain of life:

pain

Keeping Positive Through Life's PainPain is only temporary Your response to it determines how long you have to endure it (or at the very least how long it seems to be lasting).  A positive mindset can make hours seem like mere minutes, and weeks seem like only days; and make endurance of life’s trials much easier.  Always bear in mind that rough times won’t last forever, and that whatever pain you’re going through shall indeed pass.

You never know who is watching you and using you as their standard. It could be your friends, co-workers, social media pals, and even your mate and children. They are watching you for the proper example of how they should behave when faced with challenging situations. Make sure you deliver.

Being positive helps you to see things differently and possibly generate solutions that you would not have thought of otherwise. A distressed perspective will always cloud one’s judgment. Keep this saying in mind:

.

.

‘optimism oftentimes creates options.’

There are also the other obvious reasons, which are:.

  • It is much healthier for you, and.
  • It improves how you feel overall

So the next time you’ve gone through your mental checklist of things to do to reverse your mood and none of your line items seem to work, try to remember the reasons why the mood change is needed instead. Focusing on the motivation for positivity versus the effectiveness of your actions may be just what you need to set and keep your mind in the right place.

Very powerful post, Melisa!

Although it can be quite hard to do at times, you’re absolutely right that remaining positive is a way to outshine the problems at hand. I love that ‘optimism oftentimes creates options’ quote. I’ll have to use that from now on! What a powerful saying. Brief and to the point. You really nailed this one! Thanks for sharing! 🙂
