Hosting an Olympic Winter Games Party? Use These Fail-Proof Planning Ideas
This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of P&G. The opinions and text are all mine.
It’s hard to believe that The Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 are fast approaching! And just like other major sporting events, the greatest way to enjoy the festivities is with a gathering of family and friends at home. My family and I love watching it! Getting enthralled in the chills and thrills of every spectacle that happens!
For me, the best part is transforming our viewing times into an all-out party that perfectly captures the true essence of the happenings in the hosting city. Doing so requires a lot of planning – and a lot of help!
Luckily, my party-hosting has become easier through the years, as I have fine-tuned a myriad of party ideas I have both attempted and researched to in order to create a no-fail guide of successfully executing the perfect party! Here are some of my tips and tricks for hosting and how I prepare The Olympic Winter Games party to end all parties that is consistently marvelous every time!
Make It Festive
I love choosing a theme for my viewing party! It is such an adventure to think of new and exciting ways to incorporate the spirit into my decorations, party favors, and even my party foods!
To make themes come to life, I apply bright bold colors into every detail of the party – from colored ice cubes for drinks, to plates and cutlery. When planning the menu, I always choose healthy fruits and veggies that are bright bold colors. For my pastries and other desserts, I use coordinating food coloring to give my special treats just the right touch!
Make It Fun
Since my family and I have always watched together through the years, I have a blast creating unique trivia games of fun facts from previous years! I am always sure to incorporate trivia items from the current year as well! Everyone loves it, and it makes watching as a family more memorable!
Another fun addition to my viewing party includes party favors such as clappers, streamers, noisemakers, hats, and more! I even purchase miniature dry erase boards and markers so my family and friends can jot down their own scores for each athlete or team in an event!
Make It Fabulous
Remember when I mentioned that hosting a watch party requires tons of planning and help? Well a huge part of that is making a no-fuss, no-muss plan for quick and easy cleanup before, during, and after the party. The good news is from preparation to clean up, Procter & Gamble has everything I need for a successful party, available at Schnucks.
Whether it’s using a Swiffer for a quick clean before friends and family stop by, or grabbing Bounty paper towels to wipe up drink spills, P&G has everything I need to create a gold medal worthy party – from start to finish! P&G favorites like Bounty, Dawn, Swiffer and Febreze definitely make my party prep – and cleanup – a breeze! Plus, since P&G is the “Team USA Partner,” I can show my support in more ways than one!
Schnucks is not just a great place to shop for the variety, the convenience of many stores in St. Louis, fresh produce, and the fresh new prices that are lowered on everyday items! It is also my number one store of choice to grab items for the perfect appetizer or dessert and some fun décor for a festive viewing party, as well as my favorite P&G products to keep everything neat and tidy throughout the evening.
Hosting a viewing party is about much more than seeing who brings home the gold. It is about spending time with my family and loved ones while creating memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. That is why I go the extra mile to make each viewing night special.
Of course, no watch party is complete without the best food and decor to enjoy it with! With my fail-proof planning guide above plus the great selection of products from P&G, Team USA Partner, available at Schnucks, I know that I am armed with all the essentials I need to throw an amazing party all of my friends and family will be talking about long after it is over.
