Global Impact Women And Girls Fund: Help Change Lives Around The World
Roughly one billion people in the world live in extreme poverty; the majority of them are women. Women control less than 10 percent of the world’s assets while performing two-thirds of all labor to produce more than half of the world’s food.
.
The problem is even worse for young girls. In some countries, long-standing cultural, and often religious, practices devalue and marginalize female children, which results in lack of access to education, marginalization, forced marriage, sexual exploitation and violence.
.
Without access to clean drinking water, sanitation, medical care, equal rights, education and decent employment, poverty continues to intensify. When mothers lack the means to thrive, their children suffer, as well.
Global Impact Women And Girls Fund
To address the aforementioned issues and increase the resources available to organizations helping women and girls in the developing world, Global Impact has partnered with CARE, World Vision, Plan and ICRW to raise funds for programs impacting women and girls. This initiative is the Global Impact Women & Girls fund. With this new partnership, organizations worldwide are uniting to provide resources and frontline delivery of services on a global scale, including:
