Fall Back into Health and Wellness This Autumn with These Steps

When you factor in less daylight and the upcoming seasonal gatherings, it’s easy to feel like there isn’t enough time left in the day for ourselves. However, it’s important to set the goal of making self-care a top priority this fall. It all starts with proper preparation to for the colder months in order to ensure that your health stays in check.

Below you’ll see just a few of the many ways to stay healthy, inside and out, when temperatures start to drop:

Load up on seasonal foods. Reap the health benefits of in-season veggies like cauliflower, eggplant and squash. Roast them with just a little oil, salt and pepper for an easy, vitamin packed meal.

Catch some Zzzs. Shorter days are nature’s way of telling us to slow down and allow our bodies to catch up on quality sleep. Make sure your mattress and pillows are comfortable and supportive and have not exceeded their life expectancy.

Give your medicine cabinet a checkup. Check the expiration dates on all your medicine. Replace anything that’s expired and make sure you have what you need to treat everything from headaches to the flu.

Take care of your skin. Don’t wait until winter to prepare your skin for harsh temperatures. A dip in temperatures can drastically affect your skin’s balance and it’s important to keep it hydrated.
