One of my favorite parts of summer is the long, warm, busy days. My schedule includes a lot of stopping and restarting during the school year, but summer vacation allows me the freedom and flexibility to go nonstop from dawn to dusk – and back to dawn again.

I totally love that type of freedom! My summer physical activity is on a heightened level all summer long! I stay on the go from the moment of my early morning workout straight through the evening food truck and music festivals in the park. Sometimes I plan ahead and pack a change of clothes to carry with me, but other times I opt to stay in my workout wardrobe all day long since it’s more convenient and comfortable.

Those are three of the things that summertime is all about for me: freedom, convenience, and comfort. And my number one goal each day is to enjoy those three things as much as possible. Although I love summer, I am not overly fond of the extreme heat and humidity that comes along with it here in the Midwest! The feeling of being sweaty or downright uncomfortable in your clothes during any type of summer physical activity can truly make for an unpleasant day while out and about.

Whether I am taking a morning jog in the park or lifting weights at the gym, or even dancing the night away at a neighborhood summer concert series, I want to feel fresh, clean, and most of all, comfortable. I never want to be distracted from enjoying any moment of summer because of the inability to have the freedom and convenience of feeling my ultimate best. Balancing summer physical activity between my own daily ‘to-do’ list and the fun events of summer is something that I look forward to each and every year!
