Champions For Kids has shown me just how simple giving can be by putting ways to help the community right where I shop—and I am beyond thrilled about it!
Sometimes life can get so busy that although I have every intention to donate to help others, it easily slips my mind. I forget to write the check. I forget to visit the website. I forget to stop by the organization or make the phone call. In a hectic life like mine, it’s totally understandable.
Champions For Kids
However, when I need something for myself, my family, or my home, one thing that life will not allow me to forget is to make a trip to the store. And usually I go to my neighborhood Walmart, since I prefer to pick up everything in one place.
Champions For Kids
Now with Champions4kids placing buying and gifting bins right inside Walmart, I can grab a few items for in-store donations while I shop for my family!
The bright purple pallets are very easy to spot in the aisles, with most placed at the checkout lanes. On my way to the cashier, I drop a few of the Unilever and Kimberly-Clark personal care products in my shopping cart, and I’m on my way in seconds. Then afterwards, I put the items in the donation bin as I head out to my car. It’s a super easy way to make a donation, and I feel a great sense of pride and joy knowing that I am making a difference by giving to local kids in my community.
Some of my donation items on my most recent trip to Walmart included a variety of Unilever and Kimberly-Clark personal care items.

The #Champions4Kids drop-off bins are conveniently located right at the door
I often discuss with my children why it’s important to give back, and when they saw the Champions For Kids donation bins and how simple it is to give, they became excited to join in! So much that they are helping to spread the word about the Walmart bins at their schools amongst their teachers and friends; and are encouraging them to get involved. I’m telling everyone that I know as well because it is a wonderful means of mobilizing the community.

Will you join me in spreading the word? Please purchase at least one item from the #CFK purple pallets to donate each time you shop at Walmart, and tell everyone you know about the #SimpleGiving initiative. Share your donations and the ways you’re mobilizing your community with Champions For Kids via Twitter, and follow along with how others are making a difference via Champions For Kids Facebook and Pinterest pages. Also visit Championsforkids.org/simplegiving to learn other ways they are impacting the lives of children across the country.
I don’t shop at Walmart (gasp!) but do applaud them for doing this-I will spread the word so that those I know that do shop there will know what to do–donate a couple of items!
This is such an amazing and wonderful idea. Because my husband is a military man, we usually donate these sorts of things to the troops overseas, but I love supporting locals when I can, too!
I think this is such a wonderful idea. I only like to give to my community and this would be the perfect way to do that.
We love Champions for Kids – such a great way to give back in a way that really makes a difference.
I really like this idea, especially since they’re right there at checkout. I might forget otherwise, so I appreciate that placement!
I love that its so easy at Walmart to just grab something and put it in the bin! I believe these bins are only in certain states though, right? I hope to see one at my local walmart soon.
I like the one stop shops too, and the next time I go, I will be keeping my eyes open for the big purple box.
What a fantastic and easy way to give back to the local community!
Well done you for spreading the news and making people become aware xxx
I love that these boxes are ending up in the stores, it makes it a lot easier. I live pretty far away from things so traveling to donate items usually keeps me from doing it to be honest.
Thank you for sharing this great campaign. I will have to go and check them out! 🙂
I have not seen this at my Walmart yet, but such a wonderful idea! If they do happen to have the bin, I’d surely donate 🙂
What a great program that helps the community of families and the kids. Hope people give it lots of support
Oh wow I love this idea – we had one in a local shopping centre over the summer for soldiers next to a list on the things they could be sent – it was so easy to just to grab a couple of extra things and pop them in. x
Oh I love how simple Champions for kids makes it to place a donation! Seriously that is quite enticing! I love having that box there for easy drop off.
Champions For Kids sounds like such a great way to help out those less fortunate. It is all too easy to forget about helping others with all that goes on in our day to day lives. This is awesome.
What a great cause, its sad to think of how many kids go without basics.
I try to participate each time I see these campaigns in our local stores! My kids take turns putting the items in the bins.
Those bins are such a great idea. We have similar ones here in all the grocery stores, so it’s easy to buy a few extra items and then put them in the bin on the way out.
I read about this recently but unfortunately they don’t have it where I live. That’s a real great thing to do. So sorry it’s not here.
This is so great! I’ll have to check it out soon!
This is definitely a great idea. Not only is helpful to others it is an act of giving too – which is always returned with blessings of sort. 🙂
I love the Champion for Kids programs. They are such a big help to communities.
What a neat cause! Too bad they dont have it here. : (
What a fabulous program to get people involved in helping these kids. I used to have my kids do the donating when they were little. They saved a little of their allowance every month so they could donate something at the end of the year.
I love how they do things like this. Kids are kind of helpless and sometimes depend on the help of generous people like you!
With the economy the way it is so many kids and people need help. This is such a nice way to help those in need. Kudos to you for helping.
I love Champions for kids and their campaigns are always AMAZING..love that you are helping and spreading the word; need to find those boxes in my area, too
What a fantastic charity! I’m definitely looking forward to the twitter party this afternoon. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for all the great information and for motivating others to give to kids this holiday season! #client
We need to serve as role models for our children to be concerned about and generous toward others! Thanks for the great information.
What a great cause.. too many kids go hungry, unclothed, and need medication
This is an awesome thing to help the kids in your community! And makes it so simple.
I will have to head over and check these out! Thank you for sharing.
Great idea. We have a similar food bank program. it does make it easier to give.
I love this idea. My family loves to give back to the community too.
Thank you so much for sharing. I will have to look for this on my next trip there.
I didn’t know this, so thank you for sharing and bringing to my attention and I can look for it.
