Family Night Out With The Harlem Globetrotters
The stronghold of tremendously freezing temperatures has taken a very heavy hit on traditional family winter activities. Simply put: in our town it has been far too cold to do anything outdoors! Nevertheless, I was determined for us to do something as a family that was economical, fun, and most importantly: indoors. 🙂

That is why I am so happy that The Harlem Globetrotters hit our town during the winter! Every year without fail, their tour stop somehow slips by me…..but not this year!

As a child, I always wished to see the Harlem Globetrotters live, but due to my Mother being a Busy Mom herself, we never had a chance to go—which made it all the more special for me to take my children to see them in action.

To be honest, I had very little idea what to expect of the show. I knew that the players would do stunts and tricks during the basketball game, but that was it. Yet, even with just that much, I was uber-excited, and so were the kids!
The girls (Hipster and Lady T) are too happy! 😀

There is so much that I could say about the game, but to make a long story short, we had a total blast!! All of us laughed from beginning to end. The players from both teams were very animated and the “You Write The Rules” parts were amazing! They even kept the audience highly entertained during time-outs and halftime. Towards the end of the game, it dawned on me that I had not laughed that much on a very long time!

The arena did not allow photos during the game, but it was announced to the crowd that we could take photos during halftime–in which this guy at center-court came out and astounded everyone!

It is official: I have added the Harlem Globetrotters tour stop to our list of family winter traditions! All of the team members and their antics had us all laughing so much, that we cannot wait until they come again next year!

I used to want to see the Harlem Globetrotters so bad when I was a kid. One thing, I could never figure out is if they were that good or if the games were staged. Either way, our family should look into getting some tickets like these of our own!
