This is a sponsored post, but all opinions are my own.
Box Tops and back to school are two great things that go great together. To non-parents, it might seem a bit early to be talking about back to school anything, but we parents know that with just about four weeks until school starts up again, now is THE time to start gearing up. Back to school comes faster than even us seasoned pros expect sometimes, so it’s important to get the back to school train rolling with plenty of time to spare. For my family, Box Tops are part of that.
Box Tops for Education have been around for awhile now, but for those of you who may not know, these are little rectangles that come printed on many of our favorite products. When you purchase items, you cut out those rectangles, collect them, and donate them to your local school. The school then redeems those tops for much-needed funding.
It’s a great way for us parents, grandparents, and other family members to help give our children’s schools the funding that they need. Because back to school and Box Tops are such an important combination, I’ve put together a list of the best ways to collect them.
Best Ways to Collect Box Tops
Look for the Tops
First and foremost, you have to look for those tops! I’ve been doing this for years so it’s second nature to me. Whenever I buy anything, I check to make sure it has a Box Top on it so I can stock up on the things I need and stock up on funding for my kids’ school. It’s easier than you might think.
Almost anything you’ll ever need is sold with a top if you keep your eyes open. It’s just a matter of paying attention. Another bonus is that these tops are always on the brands that I trust and purchase regularly like Lysol, Kleenex, and Nature Valley products so it’s doubly perfect for me.
Keep Them Safe
Pro tip: Do not just throw your box tops into a bowl. Back in the day when I first started collecting these tops, I just put them in a bowl. I lost SO many that way! All it takes is for someone to knock the bowl over or just walk by too fast and have the wind catch them.
Just the other day, I fished a top out from under the refrigerator that looked like it had been there for years. These days, I keep my Box Tops in a secure Tupperware container to keep them all safely contained.
Look for Deals
When I see deals on my favorite products featuring Box Tops, I stock up. That includes looking for sales and online coupons and shopping at stores that I know will give me the most for my money. And for my money, that’s Costco. We all know that Costco generally involves buying in bulk, and that saves money.
It’s also perfect for me because I buy a lot of what I need anyway. I simply head to Costco and purchase every Box Topped thing that I need and save money at the same time. That’s important to me, because we go through a lot of everything in this house!
Why Collecting Box Tops is so Important
Collecting Box Tops is incredibly important to our schools. These days, schools lack the proper funding that they need for pretty much everything. It’s been that way for years, really.
I remember when I was in school, and my teachers routinely buying school supplies with their own money. However, it’s even worse now. Box Tops for Education help fill that gap between the funding that schools receive and the amount of funds that they actually need. That’s why I’m so committed to collecting these tops. Everyone counts. Every. Single. One.
A Box Tops Sweeps to Help Your School
