If you’ve seen my previous posts, you know that I took on the task of transforming my empty and boring back porch into a place where I relax and enjoy the beauty of nature. It took a lot of planning and preparation, but I’m glad to say that it is finally finished! I now have the mini outdoor oasis that I’d hoped for all in thanks to At Home stores!

At home had so many outdoor décor options – everything from coastal themes to modern designs. It was tough to choose, but I opted to go with not only one of my most cherished colors, but a design that would truly bring my back porch to life.

To create the space, I took inspiration from a display setting that I saw at one of the At Home stores in my local area. It seemed to be the perfect match to what I was looking for in my own outdoor retreat!

I absolutely adored the Dark Brown Wicker Chair, pillows, and planter of this store display! I decided to take those and add a few of my own personal touches to make it a design of my own.

Next was greenery. The moment that I saw this tall Lighted Pyramid Boxwood Topiary, I knew that it would be a perfect addition to my porch space!

I really wanted a table for my space, and I was worried that I would not find one that was small enough to fit. Luckily, At Home has dozens of tables in stock in every size, height, and shape imaginable! I was able to find this little treasure of a table that was the exact dimensions I needed!

With the big decor pieces out of the way, it was time to find the smaller accessories to compliment the space. My favorite selections were two accent pieces that I decided to combine into one to create a mini table planter for a total cost of just $20.

Remember those water fountains from the previous post? I just had to have one! Anyone who knows me well knows how much I love being around water! The tranquil (yet quiet) sounds of this miniature water fountain entices me to spend time on my back porch every day! It’s so great that I also purchased a second one for inside of my home!

Last but not least, I added the finishing touches of a rich red outdoor rug and additional planters to pull the look together.

I love, love, love my new back porch!!! What was once a cold and lifeless space is now warm and inviting. It is the perfect space to unwind! The best part is that it didn’t cost a huge fortune to do. I was able to get everything I needed from the At Home store without breaking my project budget. How cool is that?!

Summer vacation is fast approaching, and with the kids soon to be out of school, it is going to be a struggle for me to do my regular work duties inside the house with all of the chaos of having three children at home. Now with my porch makeover, I can get away from their noise and work outdoors in the beauty of nature. I can even take the early morning hours to enjoy the birds chirping while indulging in a cup of coffee, or marvel at the stars at night. I totally see it as the place of retreat that I had longed for!
