Back To School Lunch Tips: Quick, Safe and Nutritious Options From Celebrity Chef Donatella Arpaia

According to guidelines released by the CDC last year, children between 2 -18 years old were not eating the recommended amount of vegetables. While kids were eating more fruit than before, it still isn’t enough as only children ages 2 – 5 were getting the recommended amount of fruit.

Celebrity chef Donatella Arpaia spoke with me recently to offer busy parents advice on how to get their kids to eat more fruits and vegetables this school year. The head judge of Food Network’s popular Iron Chef America and Next Iron Chef also shared some back to school lunch tips, as well as some quick, easy, and nutritious options for healthy after school snacks.
