Martin Luther King Jr day is just a few weeks away, and with the kids being at home, it’s time to start planning some activities for the day that are both educational and fun! This animated film follows a teenager and his best friend who are magically sent back in time where they meet Dr. Martin Luther King Jr at several points during his life. My household has owned this movie forever and the whole family loves it! It’s the perfect film for kids to show them the life of martin Luther King Jr.

If you’re looking for a documentary on Kin’s life, look no further than this one by the History channel! This documentary includes a rare interview with his son, Martin Luther King III, as well as associates from the civil rights campaigns and various other prominent figures.

One of my personal favorites and a true classic, this six-hour television miniseries includes special features such as interviews with the cast and 2 additional documentaries about the Civil Rights Movement.

If you’re looking for a more summarized presentation of the life of Martin Luther King Jr, this is a great one. Colin Powell, the Rev. Jesse Jackson, and Quincy Jones are among the celebrated figures who pay tribute to the legendary Dr. Martin Luther King on this lees-than-an-hour long program.
