Holiday GIVE Guide: 10 Uncommon People To Add To Your Shopping List

2012-holiday-give-guide-finding-holiday-charity-events #melisasourceWelcome to the latest edition of the MELISASource 2012 Holiday GIVE Guide! For the first installment, I shared ideas for finding Holiday charity events (to see that post, click >>HERE<<).  Next, I will share some ways to GIVE during your last-minute Holiday shopping this week!

.

Let’s go! 🙂

.

One of the greatest ways to GIVE during this season is to do something special for those who touch your life every day, yet oftentimes go unnoticed. I am not talking about your family and friends; I am talking about the people outside of your circles who you see or otherwise interact with on a consistent basis. Those people that you know you can rely on to add a smile to your face and to spread some cheer with their kindness towards you. The ones that you subconsciously look for to be present, and the moment they are not, it puts a damper on your entire day.

.

These are the people that you should give to during the Holiday season to express your appreciation for them. It is a wonderful way to show them just how much they matter.

.

Here are some suggestions for you:

.

– Mail Carrier / Delivery Driver

– Favorite store Clerk / Cashier / Worker

– Neighborhood EMS, Firehouse and Police Station staff

– Janitors and Cafeteria workers at your place of employment or your child’s school

– Crossing guard at your child’s school

– If you work primarily online, your strongest/most faithful supporters

– If you own your own business, your strongest/most faithful customers and/or clients

– Babysitter

– Mechanic / Repair Person

– Personal Service Providers (stylist, groomer, nail tech, dry cleaning, etc)

 ..

.

Remember to GIVE a small token of appreciation to these people in your life this year. Your gift to them does not have to be anything big or expensive. Something such as a $10 gift card, a gift basket or a decorated tin of treats will certainly do. Add a Holiday card, and write a personal note inside of how much you treasure them. Your gestures of giving and kindness will really warm their hearts above and beyond!

Who are some people outside of your family that make a difference in your life? How do you plan to GIVE to them this year? Share with me below or tell me about it at: melisasource@yahoo.com.

I like the idea of giving gifts to people who make life a little better. The gifts you suggested won’t break the bank and the thoughtfulness will touch the recipient.

Greetings Janeane! I am glad that you like this idea! Yes it is definitely a great way to let them know just how much they are appreciated. A little amount of kindness goes a long way. ~Thank you so much for sharing here with me! 🙂

I never thought of the custodians and food services workers. They play a big part in your child’s education. Keep the school clean and your little one’s belly full. That deserves a spot of the shopping list!
